2nd place is the 1st loser? Aren't they 2nd best?

What does the Oilers, Canucks and Flames all have in common? "They are all from Canada?" Thanks for stating the obvious. No the answer is they have ALL lost Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Edmonton lost to Carolina in 2006
Calgary lost to Tampa Bay in 2004
Vancouver lost to the NY Rangers in 1994

The Oiler fans always pull out how many cups they have one. Surprise Surprise.

Vancouver's best player of all time maybe it's Naslund or Bure.

Oilers best player of all time is Gretzky.

Calgary's is got to be Lanny McDonald or Jerome Ignila (who hasn't won a cup).

Vancouver's best goalie is Kirk McLean.

Edmonton's best goalie is Grant Fuhr or Bill Ranford.

Calgary's best goalie is Mike Vernon or Kipper (who hasn't won a cup).

Imagine your best player for years being Tony Tanti.

Enough said.

We are now rebuilding. Edmonton had a shot and then everyone jumped ship. No Pronger and Peca. Ouch.

When you are used to winning Stanley Cups like Edmonton fans are, you know how to spell win in past tense. It is spelt like we "won" not like we "one". That is how you spelt it above. Maybe "one" day if your team ever wins you can say we "won". Even the Victoria Cougars have won the Stanley Cup.
Sorry I am unable to imagine my best player being Tony Tanti. We don't even have guys that bad in our farm team.
Best of luck rebuilding your team. Maybe after the 2010 Games some players from Lafia will defect to Canada and stay in Vancouver. Even that would be an improvement.
