King James vs Dominate Duncan

Here we have it...Cavs vs Spurs in the NBA finals. Now everyone knows (since most ppl read this blog religiously ...lol) I picked the finals to be Suns vs Cavs. Man I was close in my prediction. As I do wish Nash would have been able to pull off the come back vs SA, I am so excited LeBron took out the Pistons.

Game 5 vs the Pistons could go down as one of the greatest games as an individual in NBA history. It would have meant nothing if the Cavs lost the series. LeBron simply just took over. The commentator said he was playing, "Jordanesk". I understand what he's saying but he's the KING. The only guy who might have a shot to be like Michael Jordan would be L.James not Kobe (rumour has it Kobe has asked for a trade but the Lakers are promising him some help...Kobe get out of there! Or maybe you are the problem. If you were just a little nicer to Shaq you would have one 1 or 2 more championships). LeBron scored a total of 48 pts. It took double ovetime but he carried the Cavs on his back scoring 29 of their last 30 pts. Didn't Detroit call a timeout and say, "Maybe get the ball out of LeBron's hands and make someone else try to beat us."? I can guarantee you they did. You just couldn't stop this 22 yr old phenom. At 22 I was at college thinking about eating a pizza and playing a little hockey never mind leading a team to the NBA finals. WOW! is a great word to describe this kid. He is the real deal. What I loved about LJ is he didn't try to come out in Game 6 with a repeat performance but he did something else. Giving the ball up they beat the Pistons by 16. Gibson had a career high of 31 pts as they defeated a great team who had made the Eastern Conference finals FIVE YEARS straight. This is no little victory. The Pistons are so strong can cause match-up problems for every time in the L. But one guy beat 7 really good team players (hey T.Prince step down because the King is here!). Now you can see why I wrote a post about this.
As good as LeBron is the Spurs are better. What I you mean? Spurs have been dominating for yrs. Unlike Detroit, SA has a superstar. Tim "I love fundamentals" Duncan has been causing teams BIG time problems for over a decade. He has NBA rings to prove it. And the pressure to win is not all on his back either as they have surrounded Timmy with an incredible supporting cast. Parker and Ginobilli are absolutely amazing. To take out the Suns you got to be great. So who wins the 2007 NBA final? If I was wanting to write an incredible story with an incredible ending I would have LeBron hitting the game winning shot in game 6 or 7 with no time left on the clock. But reality says that the Spurs are different than the Pistons. I don't know who could guard Duncan and Parker. I think SA has a way better team than the Cavs but I hope that King James shows off his mad skills and dominates.

SA in 6.

By the way Duncan and James are my two favourite players. So to have them both in the finals is awesome for me. I look forward to watch this series. Hopefully the Cavs show up to play.

You said Suns-Cavs, I said Spurs-Pistons. Together, we're geniuses. :)

I'd agree with San Antonio in 6. The Cavs would only stretch it to 7 if James has a few completely unreal games. He dismantled Detroit in game 5, but this is not the Pistons of the past few years - they're good, but not the shutdown team they were.

The Spurs are a different animal, and have pretty much seen everything before.

trev, well done on picking the cavs...i can honestly say i didnt think they would go anywhere. as for LJ...wow...guy is nuts. i pray he will dazzle us more as they play the spurs (my most hated team) mainly due to them always knocking my suns out but also cuz of the "fundamentalist" or as i like to call him "boringist player on the planet". man he's lame. everytime he gets the ball he says to himself "i could dunk it and make a sweet play...nawww ill just bank it". hah cavs in 7!! prepare for one of the best individual effort by a player in playoff history like when MJ took out seattle. the new testament is good but never underestimate "the new KING JAMES version".

Dean you are correct SA "have pretty much seen everything before." Maybe LeBron is the exception to the rule (i hope).

Pechie, I can't say I am surprised I was right about the Cavs but I am surprised I was wrong about the Suns. LJ is unbelievable. Either he will dazzle or get sizzled. Tim Duncan one of the best players to ever play the game. I know he doesn't always throw down monster dunks like Amare or Shaq but this guy gets the job done and he is a winner. Causes MAJOR match-up problems for every team. The only guy who guards him well is Garnett. And I love the fact he banks so many shots off the glass. As a basketball coach fundamentals makes us happy inside.

Go Cavs!

Wow. Looking more like SA in 4. Cleveland is embarrassingly overmatched.
