NFC isn't as bad as you think!

Every year I hear people say, "the NFC sucks." "Compared to the AFC the NFC is a joke." "The NFC is weaker."
I want to go on record that I disagree. Well kind of. Let me explain.

If you rank the top 8 teams probably the AFC gets 5 out of the top 8.
Steelers, Colts, Patriots, Jets, and Ravens all are very strong right now.
And really who knows who's coming out of the NFC to the Superbowl??? (Well I think my Packers are coming out and winning the Super Bowl but everyone else has no clue)

Overall the AFC right now is much stronger than the NFC but when it comes down to the best playing the best and especially one game, winner-takes-all, Superbowl don't think that the NFC isn't legit.

Things that make you go hmmm...(thank you Arsenio Hall)
1. Argument 1: NFC West the worst division in football.
I hear the arguments that the NFC West is the weakest and I definitely agree. But is the AFC West that much better? Denver, KC, SD, and Oakland are battling it out. Seattle and KC/Oakland are leading those divisions with a 5-4 record.

2. Argument 2: Elite vs Elite
Who cares about those bad divisions what about the elite teams.
Well the Super Bowl favourites (after 9 weeks) is Pittsburgh who got killed vs the Patriots who everyone has written off.
The Jets are very good but I would not say they are great...their D hasn't lived up to the hype this year and they got WR problems (can't catch). Sanchez again is good but not great.
I like the Ravens this year and their offense is clicking...the problem is their D isn't good enough to win a championship (sorry Ray Lewis but it's true).
The Colts? Well Peyton, even though he was voted #8 overall on the best players in the history of the NFL on the NFL network, has played bad for him the last 2 weeks. And honestly can their D hold up...I don't think so. Injuries have really taken a toll on Indy as well.
The Patriots as good as they have been are not as great as they have been.
There is no one unbeatable here. My prediction right now is the Steelers make the Super Bowl.

3. Argument 3: Look at the Super Bowls they don't lie.
Super Bowl facts:
In the 90's the NFC won 8 out of 10.
From 2000 to 2007 the AFC won 6.
But in the last 3 years, the NFC has won 2 Superbowls. The Giants beat the undefeated Patriots and the Saints beat the Colts. The one the NFC loss is the great catch by Steelers WR Holmes vs the Cards where they came from behind to win!

In my humble but obnoxious opinion, I think the Packers (yes I am biased but they are legit and to all the Bears fans Cutler is brutal), Eagles (Vick puts them to another level - please don't get hurt), Giants (the Cowboy game is only 1 game if you disregard them you got to throw out the Steelers as well from last week) and even the Saints (sorry Bucs but you aren't good enough yet) could all hold their own vs the AFC and even win the Super Bowl this year. And the Falcons could be on this list too. Except for the fact that Matt Ryan doesn't play well on the road. Right now they leading the NFC (7-2) so they would be playing at home for the whole playoff run and the Super Bowl is in Dallas (another dome) so maybe they are legit.

Again in a one game, winner-takes-all, Superbowl I like the chances of the NFC not only to compete but win making it 3 out of 4 years.

The NFC isn't as bad as you think!

Well reasoned arguments...I think Atlanta needs to be on that list too...and yes you're biased but with that D, and Aaron the assassin Rogers under center I see no reason why Green Bay can't make the super bowl...and even though I've been down on my team all years, with Bum's son gone...FINALLY...you better now count out my Cowboys.

Seattle Seahawks are NFC's worst team? Do you think the NFL should go to a Salary Cap? Would this benefit the NFL or weaken it?
